Get to know me
South Carolina-based novelist and screenwriter Summer Wrenn has been honing her creative writing skills, with a special focus on fantasy, sci-fi, and drama, for the past five years. Originally a registered nurse working on high-acuity hospital units, Summer has spent the last decade exploring consciousness and psychic abilities.
She has combined her love of psychic sciences, herbalism, mythology, and cosmology to create stories that present arguments for life after death, life in other dimensions, and life on other planets. Her work challenges the reader to not see the unknown as the other but as an extension of greater consciousness—an extension of the self.
Artist Statement
I write novels, short stories, and screenplays in the genres of Sci-Fi and Fantasy Fiction and Literary Fiction. My work focuses on exploring life after death, grief, and consciousness through ancient wisdom, mystical traditions, and alien worlds. I always seek to invoke the mystical while grounding it in a way that makes readers question whether it is truly fantastical or something real and tangible. I not only write to broaden people’s minds but also to help others feel seen and to give them a space where they belong. My research methods include studying history, traveling to the locations I am writing about, and taking courses in the psychic sciences.
